More About Me

I'm wrapping up my third year at UBCO, and I'm loving it! I've had the chance to work on some fun projects, both in school and on my own time, and I'm excited to keep learning and building new things.
I have a wide range of interests, but I'm particularly passionate about back-end development, game development, and hardware projects. I love learning new technologies and improving my skills, and I'm documenting my journey here.
I find I really like working on the inner workings of systems, working with relational databases, optimizing and debugging code, but I do enjoy making things look nice and polished when I can, and really apprciate when others make good UX.

Outside of coding, I enjoy spending time outdoors, skiing in the tree runs at Big White and Silverstar, though I can't get up to the mountains as much as I would like these days. Which partially led to me picking up bouldering this year. I also love camping and backpacking, and I hope to explore more of the okanagan this summer.

I also play trombone! I started in elementary school and played through high school, eventually becoming one of the staff members of the Seattle All-City Marching band, and I continue to play with the Kelowna City Concert Band. It's a great way to relax and have fun, and I really enjoy the social aspect of playing music with others.
